Yiewtopia
Yiewsley and West Drayton was one of the places in greater london to be hit the hardest in the recession, causing the high street shops to close their doors.
Alice Stein has managed to get a shop on the high street through the council for free to bring the high street alive once more and re-establish a sense of community. Workshops and community projects will run for the next 6 months. We regenerated the shop which was primarily an off license and had been closed for the past 3 years and ready for the launch party.
Thomas More's unique utopian alphabet has been used for the invites with the English translation underneath the cryptic language. (The name of the shop is YIEWTOPIA; Yiewsley + Utopia)
The Launch party and official opening of the shop and project took place on Saturday 24 April from 6–9 pm.
